Welcome to the Humanities Initiative

Since April 2007, the Humanities Initiative has collaborated with other NYU institutes and schools on an annual Humanities Festival. So far, we have explored the relevance of the epic for the contemporary scene and the broad impact of global warming in partnership with the NY Institute for the Humanities at NYU. In 2010, we commemorated the 400th anniversary of the invention of the telescope with an international conference followed by a dramatic reading, co-sponsored by the Polytechnic Institute of NYU and the Gallatin School of Individualized Study.
